Digital promotion initiatives by the Holy Metropolis of Ioannina
The Holy Metropolis of Ioannina, in collaboration with Nextcom, focuses on the digitization and promotion of the cultural heritage of the region.
Specifically, the implemented project included the digitization of 20 sacred temples, frescoed ensembles, images, sacred vessels, books, gilded vestments, and many other elements.
The main objective of the project was to highlight and promote the region through the Internet, aiming to enhance the tourist experience and attract visitors interested in religion and culture.
The contribution of Nextcom proved crucial in the technological implementation of the project. Through the company, a data platform, digital map, virtual tour with the use of virtual reality (VR) devices, and other innovative digital applications were created. Nextcom contributed its expertise to enhance the presentation and promotion of the region’s culture on a global level, promoting visitation and recognition of the sacred monuments.
