Excerpt from the interview given by the President and CEO of Nextcom to capital.gr

In 1993, the foundation of Next Com Group marked the beginning of an innovative journey in the advertising sector. It all started with the establishment of the advertising company Apeirotan Ltd. in Ioannina. Leading this pioneering venture was Marios Kitsaras, the current President and CEO of the Group.

“At that time, advertising placements were limited exclusively to two-color printing, while four-color printing was an unknown concept. All creative processes were analog and carried out in written form. The major challenge was the introduction of four-color printing, the development of commercial brands, and the creation of videos, which were a true revolution for that era,” notes Mr. Kitsaras.

The company’s establishment was a milestone, as it was the first advertising agency to operate in northwestern Greece, filling a gap in the local market. “We started in a small office of just 30 square meters, where a large table and six chairs accommodated our creative team. We worked in an open space where everyone collaborated side by side, with our only technological equipment being a single computer and the backdrop of a cigarette advertisement. At the heart of this endeavor were two individuals: one had just returned from America, bringing innovative ideas, while I was preparing to leave for America. A key role was played by a talented graphic designer who took on the task of realizing our first creations,” describes Mr. Kitsaras.
