Films-stars in the official first for the Epirus Film Festival!
Only a few days are left for the opening of the first Epirus Film Festival which is very promising since the films that will be screened during its two-day duration are a milestone in world cinema history! The Festival is organized by the Region of Epirus on the occasion of the creation and operation of a Film Office for the Promotion, Reception and Service of Film Productions (FILM OFFICE), in the framework of the European project CIAK “Common Initiatives to AcKnowledge and valorize tourism potential of the programme area through cinema”, at the Museum of Silverwork of the Piraeus Bank Group Cultural Foundation – Acropolis Itz Kale, in Ioannina on Friday 18, Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 September 2020. The Festival is dedicated to the presentation of international co-productions that have contributed to the international promotion of our country

A few words about the CIAK project
The European project CIAK will exploit the audiovisual creative sector to promote the corresponding aural cultural sector and the exploitation of the natural resources of the regions participating in the project.
The overall objective is to promote the exploitation of the areas involved in Puglia and the Greek Regions through the implementation of initiatives linked to the audiovisual sector such as the creation of Film Offices, the organisation of film festivals and screenwriting workshops and the production of short films. This creates an opportunity for these areas to become better known and to highlight the attractiveness of the sites and their historical and natural beauty as catalysts for tourism development.
