Pilot Program "Personal Assistant for People with Disabilities": Event by the Ministry of Social Cohesion and Family
NextCom, as part of the implementation of the project titled “Actions to Promote and Publicize the Pilot Operation of the Service: Personal Assistant for People with Disabilities” by the Ministry of Social Cohesion and Family, organized an event on January 14, 2025, at the Athens Conservatory.
The event was attended by prominent state representatives, including:
- The Minister of Social Cohesion and Family Affairs, Ms. Sofia Zacharaki.
- The Minister of State, Mr. Akis Skertsos.
- The General Secretariat for Social Solidarity and Combating Poverty Mr. Prodromos Pyrros.
- The National Confederation of Persons with Disabilities (ESAmeA) Mr. Ioannis Vardakastanis.
The event featured presentations on:
- The progress and outcomes of the program during its pilot phase.
- The prospects for expanding and improving the service.
- Testimonials from People with Disabilities and Personal Assistants, highlighting the service’s significance.
The presentations and subsequent discussions underscored the pivotal role of the “Personal Assistant” service in improving the quality of life for People with Disabilities. Particular emphasis was placed on enhancing their social participation and independence through the support offered by the service.
This event marked an important milestone in raising public awareness about the program and fostering a dialogue framework aimed at its further development and establishment.
